Located on a private Island in the St. Lawrence River near the Canadian border, this project encompasses two newly-constructed guest houses. The first, The Chicken House, is a memory piece based upon a Victorian chicken coop that stood nearby. This building consists of a lower level Gym and Kitchenette with an upper level Sleeping Loft and Bathroom that can accommodate up to 4 guests. The second, The Pad, is a 3 Bedroom stone and shingle house, which borrows its architectural scheme from a single-room structure that acted (along with the extant ca. 1920’s main house), as the model for the new building. A portion of the masonry walls of the original structure can still be seen, although they have been incorporated seamlessly into a greatly enlarged house. |
