A drive-through Storage Shed designed to store equipment for the agricultural preserve portion of an estate in East Hampton, this 1,500 square foot building recalls the shingled farm cottages prevalent along the Eastern seaboard of the United States, particularly the farming and fishing communities that once populated Long Island - simple in form, modest in scale, and elegant in detail. The central porte cochere anchors the drive leading to the residential area of the property and elevates the building to the function of a Gate House. |
