Projects This Private Residence, located in Bedford Hills, is a 4,500 square foot stone house built to resemble vernacular English architecture. Sited on a steep, rocky slope overlooking a wooded valley, the building was conceived as three contiguous structures designed to appear as if they were built at different times by different hands. The clients imported many salvaged materials from England, including a 16th century granite fireplace surround, miscellaneous wooden doors, lead paned and stained glass windows, and Victorian oak paneling. The interior was conceived as a timber frame structure assembled from salvaged timbers and is furnished with exquisite British antiques from the owner's collection. The house sits on a seven acre site, which includes dramatic rock outcroppings, a natural pond, landscaped gardens, a croquet lawn, and a sixty foot lap pool.
